Test Engineer
Job Description
Test Engineer role at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, based onsite in Pullman, WA and Lewiston, ID, focusing on test development, DFT, and production test systems.
Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive test strategies, plans, and automated tests for both new and existing products
- Partner with R&D design engineers to implement Design for Test, ensuring new products are testable and manufacturable from concept
- Design, build, and sustain board level and functional test systems, including SPEA flying probe platforms, bed-of-nails fixtures, and in-house automated test stations
- Analyze test data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement
- Assess and adopt new test technologies and methodologies
- Continuously identify and measure process performance to drive improvements in test efficiency and coverage
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or an equivalent degree
- Strong grounding in analog and digital electronics, with the foundation valued over prior test engineering experience
- Hands-on work orientation and strong problem-solving abilities
- Experience with or willingness to learn test system development, scripting, and instrumentation design
- Clear communicator and effective team player
- Experience in electronics test development, including designing and building production test systems
- Proven experience leading or mentoring engineers or technicians
- Experience with automation, instrumentation, and circuit analysis
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Pay Range
- Associate Test Engineer: $84,200 - $124,500 per year
- Test Engineer: $97,700 - $144,400 per year
- Lead Test Engineer: $115,300 - $170,400 per year
