Transportation Engineer
Job Description
Transportation Engineer role at Accelerate Engineering, PLLC in Cary, NC, concentrating on roadway design, feasibility assessments, traffic forecasting and simulations, safety evaluations, and technical reporting with occasional travel to project sites or meetings.
Responsibilities
- Roadway design
- Feasibility studies
- Traffic forecast
- Capacity analysis and simulations
- Safety analysis
- Traffic engineering design including signing, pavement marking, work zone traffic control, and traffic signals
- Technical report preparation
- Some travel to project sites or meetings may be required
Requirements
- Minimum of four years of relevant project experience in one or more technical areas
- Proficiency in roadway and traffic engineering design and analysis programs such as OpenRoads Designer, GuideSIGN, AutoTurn, Synchro, TransModeler, SIDRA, HCS
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness and ability to learn new job skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- NC PE or ability to obtain PE is preferred
