Job Description
Van Enkevort Tug and Barge is seeking a USCG Licensed Chief Engineer Limited to lead the engineering operations on ATB vessels. This onsite role in Michigan centers on ensuring the safe and efficient performance of all machinery, directing the engineering team, maintaining spare parts and fuel inventories, and coordinating closely with the captain and shoreside staff to keep operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the safe and efficient operation of all machinery and systems on both the tug and barge.
- Lead and manage the engineering team aboard both vessels.
- Procure and maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts and fuel supplies.
- Collaborate closely with the vessel captain and connect with shoreside personnel to ensure clear communication and smooth operations.
Requirements
- Authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or as a permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
- Hold a U.S. Passport.
- Must be able to be away from home for periods exceeding 30 days, as needed.
- Ability to stand for long periods; lift up to 100 pounds floor to shoulder; lift up to 50 pounds floor to overhead; climb stairs and ladders; push or pull up to 200 pounds.
- USCG Issued Chief Engineer Limited (minimum).
- Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) for access to MTSA regulated areas.

Pay
Compensation: $884.00 - $904.00 per day
