Project Engineer
Job Description
Work4ce Inc is seeking a Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of complex civil and manufacturing projects for an automotive client, with a focus on battery production lines, scheduling, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration. This onsite role in Liberty, NC involves close collaboration with engineers, the construction management group, technicians, vendors, and general contractors to drive milestones from concept through launch. The position offers an hourly salary range of $55 to $84.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a team environment to support other engineers, the Construction Management Group, technicians, vendors, and general contractors to meet project milestones.
- Manage equipment procurement and plan installation through execution, commissioning, pre-production trials, and the launch of battery production lines.
- Participate in advanced cleanliness protocols (clean room) required for the assigned battery manufacturing area.
- Support battery manufacturing trials to verify equipment safety, quality, operability, and overall efficiency.
- Identify punchlist items, conduct root cause analyses, and manage countermeasures.
- Summarize KPIs, support mass-production handover, and assist with production issue resolution.
- Engage with cross-functional teams (domestic and international) to address open items and align on schedules and milestones.
- Create and maintain detailed schedules for assigned areas and manage budgets accordingly.
- Complete required internal and external training.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience in production preparation and execution of capital projects, preferably from initial strategy planning to the start of mass production.
- Project management experience handling capital investments greater than $0.5M.
- Experience creating and maintaining detailed schedules for manufacturing equipment installation.
- Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings including building facilities and process equipment drawings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Proficiency with 2D and 3D drafting software such as AutoCAD.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and shutdown periods (e.g., July and December) as project needs require.
