Electrical/Software Engineer
Job Description
Electrical/Software Engineer position at Fischer Panda Generators in Pompano Beach, FL onsite, focusing on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining embedded control solutions for diesel generator systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement embedded hardware and software for diesel generator control systems using C and related languages.
- Develop Windows applications for end-of-line testing and production environments.
- Interface with hardware components including sensors, actuators, CANbus, Modbus, and additional protocols.
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to integrate software with generator systems.
- Write and execute software test plans, perform debugging, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Ensure software compliance with applicable military, marine, and RV regulatory standards.
- Maintain project documentation and version control using Git, SVN, and related tools.
- Participate in field testing and provide support to production and service teams as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience developing embedded software, preferably in power systems or generator controls.
- Proficiency in C with experience using embedded development tools such as Keil, IAR, or Eclipse.
- Experience with microcontroller-based system design and hardware interfacing.
- Familiarity with CANbus, J1939, Modbus, RS-485, and related communication protocols.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Deep understanding of electronic development from device to board level; familiarity with advanced ECAD tools such as KiCAD or Pulsonix.

Preferred Qualifications
