Advanced Software Engineer for Linux Application Development for Crypto and Cross Domain Solutions

Acara Solutions is hiring an Advanced Software Engineer to support the development of next-generation cryptographic and Cross Domain Solutions technologies. In this contract role based in Scottsdale, AZ (hybrid), you will design, build, and maintain Linux-based applications for embedded systems in support of national security programs.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Linux-based applications for embedded cryptographic systems.
• Support the full software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, testing, and deployment.
• Develop secure, high-performance applications for embedded Linux environments.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and cybersecurity teams to integrate software solutions into advanced platforms.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex software and embedded system issues.
• Create and implement innovative technical solutions while following software engineering standards and best practices.
• Participate in Agile activities such as sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to software architectures and development processes.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years developing software applications for Linux-based platforms.
• 3+ years developing embedded Linux applications.
• 3+ years experience with software architecture, design, development, debugging, and integration.

• Work is centered on embedded Linux development, cryptographic technologies, secure communications, and Cross Domain Solutions for national security programs.

• Active Secret Clearance is required.

Compensation: $62 to $62 per hour (USD). Minimum experience: 3 years. Job type: contract.
