Job Description

Hybrid in Charlotte, NC with a contract role for an experienced Generative AI / Agentic AI Engineer. This position focuses on building and maintaining AI-powered applications that turn prompts into usable outcomes, including code generation, data pipelines, and web applications. You will work with modern LLM tooling and agent development on Amazon Bedrock, while collaborating with teams to support adoption of AI-powered tools. Coverage includes dental, health, life, and vision insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications that generate code, data pipelines, and web applications using generative AI and agentic technologies.
  • Integrate generative AI capabilities to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Apply software design principles to produce clean, maintainable, modular, and scalable code.
  • Build and implement AI agents, including agentic solutions using Amazon Bedrock.
  • Experiment with and implement LLM-based agentic technologies to expand application capabilities.
  • Use unit testing frameworks to improve code quality, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Optimize and fine-tune AI models for performance, scalability, and accuracy.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to support adoption of AI-powered tools.
  • Develop solutions aligned with established AI policies.
  • Conduct R&D on emerging technologies, including blockchain and quantum computing.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or 8 years of equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 6–8 years of software engineering experience.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience implementing generative AI solutions.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and the ability to learn new frameworks quickly.
  • Hands-on experience building AI agents using Amazon Bedrock.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, modular code development, and application design.
  • Experience writing maintainable and testable code.
