Civil Engineer - Land Development

T&R Properties is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer - Land Development to lead civil engineering efforts for a range of residential, multifamily, industrial, and commercial development projects in Columbus, Ohio. The role manages third-party consultants and contractors to support schedule, budget, and regulatory compliance goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Retain, direct, and manage third-party civil engineering consultants throughout project delivery.
• Coordinate environmental studies, entitlement planning, and horizontal infrastructure design for development projects.
• Establish, monitor, and maintain engineering consultant schedules to support project timelines.
• Review and approve consultant invoices and draw requests.
• Assist with and oversee regulatory approval activities with local, state, and other governmental agencies.
• Coordinate and administer horizontal construction activities performed by third-party contractors.
• Monitor project progress to ensure quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met.
• Collaborate with internal development and construction teams across the project lifecycle.
• Support prospective land acquisition evaluations by providing engineering and site development analysis.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure.
• Experience in land development, site development, or civil engineering consulting.
• Knowledge of residential, multifamily, industrial, and commercial site development.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Experience demonstrating problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple consultants and projects simultaneously.

Preferred Experience

• Experience coordinating with local municipalities and regulatory agencies.
• Understanding of site grading, utility design, stormwater management, and horizontal infrastructure construction.
• Project management and/or construction management experience.
• Experience with site civil design submittal applications and permitting with local municipalities and the State of Ohio.
• Experience supporting land acquisition due diligence and development feasibility evaluations.
