Cloud Software Engineer – AI/ML Project Top Secret/SCI w/Poly
Job Description
Peraton is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to contribute to a high-security AI/ML initiative in Laurel, Maryland. This onsite role focuses on building cloud-based cyber intelligence capabilities on AWS and large-scale compute clusters, operating under Top Secret/SCI with Poly clearance. The position offers a salary range of USD 104,000 to 166,000 per year and emphasizes secure software development within a government-grade environment.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to next-generation cyber and AI/ML capabilities hosted on large-scale compute clusters and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Provide cloud software research, development, and engineering services across the project lifecycle.
- Analyze requirements to guide design and implementation.
- Develop software components across the stack.
- Install software and dependencies within existing environments.
- Integrate new features into current systems.
- Evaluate system performance and functionality to inform improvements.
- Enhance capabilities through iterative refinements.
- Sustain software solutions over time to ensure reliability.
- Conduct testing activities to verify correctness.
- Validate systems against requirements and use cases.
- Diagnose and resolve issues to maintain operational uptime.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field; equivalent to two years of experience.
- Two or more years of directly related experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
- Experience with OpenSource NoSQL products such as HBase, Accumulo, or BigTable for highly distributed, massively parallel computation.
- At least one year of experience developing software with high-level languages such as Java, C, or C++.
- Two or more years of experience in software integration and software testing, including developing and implementing test plans and test scripts.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
