Job Description

The Configuration Engineer will design, deploy, and manage enterprise endpoint configuration platforms using SCCM/MECM and Microsoft Intune, with Jamf for Apple devices, across Windows and macOS environments. This onsite role is based in Columbus, Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain endpoint configurations through SCCM (MECM) and Microsoft Intune
  • Build and optimize workstation base images including operating system, drivers, and core applications
  • Develop and manage packaging, deployment, and update strategies across multiple platforms
  • Coordinate application deployments to ensure devices receive updates aligned with active users
  • Develop configuration baselines, compliance policies, and security standards
  • Leverage PowerShell scripting and automation tools to streamline endpoint management
  • Monitor environment health and produce reports on compliance, patching, and system performance
  • Collaborate with other teams and vendors to implement new solutions that meet business requirements and document processes
  • Ensure project completion by engaging additional internal or third party support as needed
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and training materials
  • Provide after hours support as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience, preferred
  • 4–6 years of experience in endpoint configuration engineering with a focus on SCCM/InTune
  • 4–6 years of experience delivering application support in complex environments, including SaaS, hybrid, and on‑premise installations
  • 1–3 years of experience operating in business critical environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (high proficiency)
  • Proven debugging and troubleshooting abilities (high proficiency)
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset for customer issues using advanced diagnostic tools (high proficiency)
  • Moderate proficiency in administering JAMF Pro Cloud Server for Apple device management
  • Experience provisioning and supporting virtual desktops (low proficiency)
  • Ability to administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Office applications (high proficiency)
  • Basic understanding of certificates and CA issued certificates (medium proficiency)
  • Familiarity with ITSM systems such as ServiceNow (low proficiency)
  • Solid knowledge of PowerShell, SQL, and related scripting/query languages (high proficiency)
  • Experience with Qualys Platform (high proficiency)

Expected Work Location (In Office)

The role primarily operates at the Safelite Home Office located at 7400 Safelite Way, Columbus, OH 43235. Onsite work is required at least four days per week, with location changes subject to managerial approval and business needs.
