Job Description

TRU Simulation is seeking a Controls and Motion Engineer to join the Flight Dynamics Group onsite in Lutz, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Develop aircraft test plans and provide on-site data collection support.
  • Post-process aircraft test data and map out simulator verification data roadmaps.
  • Design motion and control loading systems for simulators.
  • Develop motion and flight control mathematical models and real-time software to run these models.
  • Integrate simulation models with simulator hardware, computers, software, and other simulated systems.
  • Prepare simulator qualification test guides and acceptance test procedures.
  • Participate in domestic and international simulator acceptance and qualification events with customers, military organizations, and regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare math model reports and associated simulator documentation.
  • Contribute to system requirements, design, and test reviews.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplined engineering teams to ensure overall simulator performance and quality standards are met.
  • Maintain current knowledge of domestic and international flight simulator regulations and technologies.
  • Provide technical content for proposals and technical specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in developing and integrating flight dynamic models and creating Qualification Test Guides (QTGs) in the flight simulation industry.
  • Rigorous understanding of servo control and stability.
  • In-depth knowledge of fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft flight control systems.
  • Experience with motion, vibration, and buffet simulation methods.
  • Proficiency with modern software systems including C/C, Python, Linux, and Git.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional and diplomatic demeanor.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% annually.
