Job Description
iMPact Business Group offers an onsite Controls Design Engineer opportunity in Holland, Michigan. The position features a competitive hourly rate of USD 34 to 41, along with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, retirement, and work-life balance.
The role centers on designing and implementing control systems for custom equipment, developing and debugging PLC programs in ACADE and Allen-Bradley environments, and reading and modifying code as needed. This is a Holland-based position with hands-on involvement in modern automation projects.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement control systems and automation for custom equipment and integrated systems.
- Develop PLC programs from scratch using documentation such as sequence of operation, order acknowledgement write-ups, ACADE wiring diagrams, and P&ID diagrams.
- Read, interpret, and modify PLC code produced by others as needed.
- Create electrical control systems for automated equipment to ensure smooth operation.
- Install and configure peripheral devices, maintaining optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with the control systems engineering department manager to support team goals and project success.
Requirements
- Minimum three years of experience with the Allen-Bradley family of PLCs.
- 3+ years of experience in controls system design using ACADE.
- Proficiency in PLC programming with exposure to platforms beyond Allen-Bradley, such as Siemens, Automation Direct, or Modicon, based on relevance and experience.
- Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical systems and the ability to read and interpret ACAD electrical drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Willingness to travel overnight and on weekends, with customer site travel averaging around 30%.
