Job Description
Czero is hiring an experienced Controls Engineer to build real-time control systems and algorithms for complex machines within an agile R&D environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define system objectives and specifications.
- Evaluate multiple system architectures with client and internal teams, selecting the best approach for each application.
- Generate new concepts and designs to address challenging R&D projects.
- Develop control solutions for diverse devices, machines, and applications using varied control strategies.
- Select and implement controls hardware (rapid prototyping systems, data acquisition, etc.) and software platforms to support the selected architecture.
- Develop and test algorithms to meet system objectives.
- Model systems to predict expected performance.
- Use established tools for software documentation, requirements adherence, version control, and meeting performance and quality goals.
- Perform hands-on testing, validation, and implementation of control systems in lab and field settings.
- Lead projects and interface with clients.
- Support client engagement, including helping prepare proposals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering with specialization in controls.
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing controls systems.
- Expertise across controls design areas including algorithm design, software development, hardware selection, and system integration.
- Ability to support and perform commissioning, debugging, and testing of complex electrical and mechanical systems in lab or field.
- Deep knowledge developing controls algorithms in IEC 61131-3, C/C++, and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Experience building PLC-based controls solutions (preferably Beckhoff).
- Knowledge of industrial and automotive communication protocols, including Modbus, CAN, and TCP/IP (etc.).
- Knowledge of object-oriented software design practices.
- Proven experience leading complex projects with challenging timelines.
- Strong verbal and written communication plus interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to Czero’s goals, with interest in continuous improvement and developing profitable innovations with positive global impact.
- Experience with AutoCAD electrical (a plus).
- Background in clean tech, automotive, oil and gas, aerospace, or heavy industrial.
- Experience developing new hybrid architectures and intelligent control systems to improve performance and efficiency.
- Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence.
- Experience with Robotics and ROS.

- Salary: USD 110,000 - 160,000 per yearly
