Job Description

Lead mission-focused data engineering for the USASOC OTA Program, modernizing a DoD client’s data architecture in a hybrid Fort Bragg environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and apply cloud-based data architectures to support mission-critical operations
  • Assess the current environment and research available resources across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid to recommend tools and capabilities
  • Partner with client migration teams to implement strategy and architecture design
  • Serve as Team Lead for a small, growing team delivering technical outputs using live data
  • Develop dynamic, visual dashboards based on customer direction
  • Coordinate with the Government PM to establish sprint cadence and maintain status dashboards
  • Hybrid work setup: 50% remote / 50% onsite around Fort Bragg, NC

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Master’s degree in computer science or related field
  • U.S. Citizenship required (U.S. Government Contract requirement)
  • Current DoW Secret Clearance required
  • SQL database experience
  • Experience integrating Amazon S3 and Block Storage
  • Python scripting
  • 3-5 years with non-proprietary big data technologies (e.g., Presto, Hive, Spark, Flink); Presto/Trino preferred
  • 3-5 years building data lake/warehouse technical architecture, infrastructure components, and ETL/ELT pipelines
  • 3-5 years with workflow management engines (e.g., Airflow, AWS Step Functions, Prefect)
  • Demonstrated ability to understand requirements, analyze data, identify opportunities, address gaps, and communicate to multiple stakeholders
  • 3-5 years in software development, infrastructure, or Cloud operations
  • Experience with multiple operating systems including Linux, UNIX, Windows
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure
  • Experience deploying containerized microservices in Kubernetes infrastructure
  • Hybrid role requirements: 2-3 days on site at Fort Bragg and 2-3 days remote
  • Travel required: 10-25%

Desired Skills

  • Experience applying DoW security technical implementation guides (STIGs) and automating that process
  • Defense or intelligence community cloud environment experience (plus)
  • PowerBI ecosystem experience, focused on establishing and maintaining DataFlows
  • Experience optimizing cloud environments, including leveraging native capabilities, right-sizing servers, expanding storage, and tracking cost efficiencies at the microservice level
  • Experience configuring and aggregating logs for data analysis using Splunk or ELK solutions
  • Experience managing data pipelines between networks and TAK infrastructure

Salary

  • USD 144,500 - 195,500 per year
