As an Electrical Engineer, you will focus on the design of automotive LED lighting systems, including electrical components, embedded hardware and firmware, and their integration into prototypes with an emphasis on reliability, cost targets, and customer-driven innovation. You will be part of a fast-growing team contributing to high-performance, user-controllable features in every product.
Responsibilities
- Own electrical design for all new products, including LED drivers, integrated lighting systems, and power control, supported by documentation such as electrical specifications, schematics, BOMs, and wiring diagrams, while aligning with product plans and target costs.
- Design hardware and firmware for embedded systems, handling analog and digital inputs, live analysis, user interaction, and serial communication.
- Integrate subassemblies (mechanical and electrical) into prototypes and drive ongoing development, testing, system verification, validation, and eventual production release.
- Participate in APQP meetings to confirm design goals, timelines, and resource needs for new product development.
- Conduct feasibility reviews of product ideas with internal and external customers, offering feedback on cosmetics, quality, features, and performance to shape end goals.
- Support design for manufacturability, pursue quality improvements, reduce BOM costs, and lead efficiency initiatives, while communicating technical status and opportunities to management.
- This position reports to the Principal Electrical Engineer.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with 12V electronics and automotive LED lighting systems.
- Experience with 8-bit microprocessors and the C programming language.
- Schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer or similar software.
- Hands-on experience designing products, creating prototypes, assembling physical units, and supporting manufacturing.
- Preference for experience in low EMI PCB design.
- Automotive enthusiasm or prior automotive industry experience is desirable.
- Self-starter with the ability to complete goals with minimal supervision, paired with meticulous attention to detail and quality.
- Highly organized and precise in communication, with strong time management and planning skills to meet deadlines.
