Electrical Engineer - Industrial Systems

An Electrical Engineer is sought to support electrical design and automation for reverse osmosis systems, filtration facilities, containerized deployments, and custom water treatment solutions at Pure Aqua, Inc. This on-site role is based in Santa Ana, California and collaborates with engineering, production, and service teams to deliver robust electrical and control solutions.

Responsibilities

• Create electrical architectures and control panels for industrial equipment.
• Produce electrical drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Prepare and review IO lists derived from P&IDs.
• Define control logic, interlocks, alarms, and automation sequences derived from P&IDs.
• Program, test, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI implementations for Pure Aqua equipment (RO, UF/MF, filtration, chemical dosing).
• Configure instrumentation such as flowmeters, pressure sensors, and level sensors.
• Set up and manage industrial networks including EtherNet/IP, Modbus, and Profinet.
• Support the design, assembly, testing of control panels, IO lists, and engineering documentation.
• Lead Factory Acceptance Testing and onsite commissioning activities.
• Provide technical support to production, service teams, and customers as needed.
• Assist with system commissioning, remotely or onsite as required.
• Maintain and improve standard electrical and controls engineering practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of Electrical Engineering experience, preferably in industrial design or manufacturing environments.
• Strong experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and FactoryTalk View or comparable HMI platforms.
• Understanding of pumps, VFDs, sensors, instrumentation, and process control principles.
• Ability to read and create P&IDs, electrical schematics, and panel drawings.
• Willingness to travel 10–20% for commissioning and customer support.
• Proficiency in English.

Job Details
