Job Description

Brooksource offers an onsite Electrical Process Development Engineer III role in Arden Hills, MN with a competitive pay rate of $50 to $55 per hour. This position focuses on leading the development, validation, and optimization of electrical test processes for medical device products, delivering scalable automated test systems across both manufacturing and R&D. A bachelor’s degree and at least five years of relevant experience are required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical test strategy and define scalable, automated test architectures across products and programs
  • Design and guide the development of advanced automated test systems, with a strong emphasis on LabVIEW based solutions; initial LabVIEW training will be provided
  • Review and approve test methods, validation approaches, and technical documentation
  • Resolve complex test, yield, and correlation issues, driving root cause analysis across hardware and software systems
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and team members
  • Collaborate with leadership, R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing to align on test strategy and execution
  • Support audits, regulatory inspections, and design transfer activities, ensuring compliance with all standards
  • Oversee test validation activities, including correlation studies and measurement system analysis (MSA)
  • Perform and guide hands-on work in lab and manufacturing environments using benchtop tools and electrical test equipment
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on test efficiency, scalability, and reliability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, test engineering, or software development
  • Strong expertise in electrical systems, automated test development, and software engineering principles
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (ISO or medical device strongly preferred)
  • Proven experience designing scalable test architectures and automated systems
  • Strong experience with programming languages such as Python or C
  • Deep understanding of test validation, measurement system analysis (MSA), and correlation methodologies
  • Experience with hardware development, test fixtures, and benchtop lab equipment
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on lab environment, building, testing, and troubleshooting physical systems
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and provide technical leadership
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interface with leadership and cross-functional teams
