Job Description

Electrical Service Engineer at Hydra Service Inc. on site in Warrior, AL, responsible for designing, bidding, and building control panels, managing projects from concept through commissioning, and overseeing field execution; salary USD 90,000–100,000 per year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead field electrical engineering projects, ensuring on-time delivery within budget.
  • Develop detailed project schedules, allocate resources, and implement risk management plans.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing personnel, and clients to define project scope and objectives.
  • Perform root cause analyses on project issues and apply corrective actions.
  • Ensure designs meet NEC standards and electrical engineering best practices.
  • Maintain clear communication with customers, sharing progress updates and addressing concerns.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and contracts to verify specification alignment.
  • Design, bid, and build control panels from concept to commissioning, including schematic development, component selection, cost estimation, and final assembly.
  • Assemble and wire components, perform soldering as required for electronic assemblies.
  • Test and troubleshoot PLCs, SCADA systems, and other electrical equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong background in electrical systems, control panel design, and project estimation.
  • Ability to design and bid control panel projects from concept through proposal, in addition to managing field execution.
  • Clean driving record and drug/alcohol test required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience managing electrical engineering projects with emphasis on system design and integration.
  • Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for collaboration with mechanical engineering teams on integrated projects.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs and SCADA applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and bid control panel work, including scope development, material take-offs, labor estimating, and customer proposal preparation.
