Engineer in Training

609 Consulting, LLC offers an on-site Engineer in Training role in Sheridan, Wyoming that supports civil design and site development for Oil and Gas projects. The salary range is USD 62,400 to USD 74,880 per year, and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET or NAAB-accredited program is required, with an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain it within a defined timeframe, or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

Responsibilities

• Civil engineering design for well pads, roads, and pipeline alignment
• Comprehensive site design tasks including surveys, grading, drainage, stormwater management, water distribution and sewer collection, erosion control, SWPPP reports, and construction cost estimating
• Review permitting documents for Oil and Gas projects
• Maintain consistent file structures and naming conventions
• Manage projects from initiation through completion
• Collaborate effectively as a team member

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering from an ABET or NAAB-accredited school
• EIT certification or ability to obtain EIT certification within a defined timeframe, or PE licensure
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Education and Licenses

Experience

• Oil and Gas related civil design project experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided
• Experience with AutoCAD or comparable Civil Survey design software is preferred
• Experience in preparing basemaps, design drawings, plans, specifications, technical correspondence, and written reports is preferred
• Knowledge of construction and surveying is a plus
• GIS experience is a plus
