Responsibilities

  • Execute preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS units, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, STS units, inverters, and related critical power equipment
  • Diagnose electrical and control system faults using schematics, test gear, manufacturer documentation, and best-practice standards
  • Install, commission, and replace UPS systems, battery strings, battery monitoring systems, maintenance bypass equipment, and associated power infrastructure
  • Respond to emergency service requests and restore client systems while upholding safety and quality standards
  • Perform battery testing, capacity testing, failure analysis, and lifecycle replacement services
  • Document service activities through accurate service reports, maintenance records, and clear customer communications
  • Build strong customer relationships through technical expertise, responsiveness, and reliable service delivery
  • Mentor junior technicians and support field training by sharing troubleshooting approaches, safety practices, and technical knowledge
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, company safety procedures, and customer site requirements
  • Support additional field service tasks as business and customer needs evolve

Requirements

  • Military veterans with backgrounds in electronics, avionics, communications, radar, power generation, electrical maintenance, nuclear power, or related technical fields are encouraged to apply
  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience servicing UPS systems, battery systems, DC power equipment, generators, switchgear, data center infrastructure, or other mission-critical electrical infrastructure
  • Experience supporting equipment from manufacturers such as Eaton, Vertiv/Liebert, Schneider Electric/APC, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, ABB, or comparable critical power platforms is strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of AC and DC electrical theory, power distribution systems, and battery technologies
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Experience using multimeters, power quality analyzers, battery testing equipment, and other diagnostic tools
  • Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and electronic system failures
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and professional accountability
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned service territory, including occasional overnight travel as required

Physical and work environment

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to meet company vehicle requirements
  • Able to pass required pre-employment screenings, including drug screening and background checks where applicable
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and materials weighing up to 100 pounds with or without assistance
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, overhead reaching, and working in confined or restricted areas
  • Work safely around energized electrical equipment and within mission-critical customer environments
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods while maintaining safety and accuracy
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced field settings while upholding safety and quality standards
  • Willingness to travel within the service territory, including overnight and multi-day trips; per diem provided for qualifying travel
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to customer emergencies as needed
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Security Clearance for access to customer facilities such as data centers, telecommunications sites, healthcare facilities, industrial locations, and government installations
