Responsibilities

Execute preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS units, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, STS units, inverters, and related critical power equipment
Diagnose electrical and control system faults using schematics, test gear, manufacturer documentation, and best-practice standards
Install, commission, and replace UPS systems, battery strings, battery monitoring systems, maintenance bypass equipment, and associated power infrastructure
Respond to emergency service requests and restore client systems while upholding safety and quality standards
Perform battery testing, capacity testing, failure analysis, and lifecycle replacement services
Document service activities through accurate service reports, maintenance records, and clear customer communications
Build strong customer relationships through technical expertise, responsiveness, and reliable service delivery
Mentor junior technicians and support field training by sharing troubleshooting approaches, safety practices, and technical knowledge
Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, company safety procedures, and customer site requirements
Support additional field service tasks as business and customer needs evolve

Requirements

Military veterans with backgrounds in electronics, avionics, communications, radar, power generation, electrical maintenance, nuclear power, or related technical fields are encouraged to apply
Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience servicing UPS systems, battery systems, DC power equipment, generators, switchgear, data center infrastructure, or other mission-critical electrical infrastructure
Experience supporting equipment from manufacturers such as Eaton, Vertiv/Liebert, Schneider Electric/APC, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, ABB, or comparable critical power platforms is strongly preferred
Solid understanding of AC and DC electrical theory, power distribution systems, and battery technologies
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
Experience using multimeters, power quality analyzers, battery testing equipment, and other diagnostic tools
Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and electronic system failures
Strong customer-facing communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and professional accountability
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned service territory, including occasional overnight travel as required

Job Description

Responsibilities

Perform detailed designs for small to mid-scale projects, including drawing mark-ups, load calculations, coordination studies, short circuit calculations, voltage drop calculations, equipment specifications, and ensure compliance with company standards and applicable codes.
Lead design reviews for large projects to confirm system compatibility, conformance, and constructability.
Provide field inspection and support for electrical, security, fire alarm, data/telecom, and instrument/control installations.
Review electrical power, security, fire alarm, and instrument/control drawings for accuracy and compliance.
Identify, scope, and manage energy conservation projects.
Troubleshoot power quality problems in support of the maintenance group and JLL.
Lead project engineering and management for electrical projects and select non-electrical work as needed.
Provide technical support for the maintenance group on electrical related operational issues.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on utility bottlenecks and corrective action solutions.
Provide technical support for SHE on permit applications.
Review and approve changes to Vacaville electrical drawings and related documentation.
