Hotel Maintenance Engineer

This is a full-time maintenance engineering role at a Candlewood Suites property in Alabaster, focused on the upkeep and repair of building energy systems. The engineer will inspect and service plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems to support seamless hotel operations.

Responsibilities

• Address maintenance requests promptly and prioritize tasks by urgency.
• Perform minor repairs such as fixing broken locks, replacing light bulbs, plunging toilets, and changing air filters.
• Inspect control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.
• Install appliances and equipment including refrigerators, microwaves, and PTAC units.
• Program televisions as required.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and reorder parts and supplies as needed.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems, including ventilation.
• Verify the functionality of safety systems such as the fire alarm.
• Provide excellent customer service to hotel guests and colleagues.

Requirements

• Solid mechanical knowledge and experience in facilities maintenance.
• Fundamental understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Experience using hand and electrical tools.
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
