Job Description
Hotel Houze is hiring an onsite Hotel Maintenance Engineer in Detroit, MI to help keep hotel facilities safe, comfortable, and operating smoothly for guests and staff. This role focuses on hands-on maintenance, reliable troubleshooting, and organized work tracking using modern tools like CMMS.

Responsibilities
- Complete routine inspections and preventative maintenance across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, along with other building systems, to support optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues using schematics, electrical know-how, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- Perform welding and residential painting tasks as needed to support repairs and property upgrades.
- Operate Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to help manage automated building systems efficiently.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals to diagnose equipment issues effectively.
- Oversee facilities maintenance projects, supporting on-time completion while following safety regulations.
- When necessary, assist with manufacturing or large-scale facility operations to support overall hotel functionality.
- Supervise junior maintenance staff or contractors during projects or repairs, providing guidance and supporting safety standards.
- Provide customer service by responding promptly to guest or staff maintenance requests with professionalism and courtesy.
Requirements
- Electrical experience with the ability to troubleshoot wiring issues and read schematics.
- Mechanical knowledge including HVAC systems, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
- Proficiency using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for automation control systems.
- Skills in welding techniques and residential painting for repairs or renovations.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance procedures in hospitality or manufacturing environments.
- Supervising experience leading maintenance teams or contractors on complex projects.
- English communication skills for clear reporting and coordination.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and facility layouts.
- Knowledge of CMMS software for work order tracking, inventory management, and maintenance history.
- Leadership qualities with a focus on safety standards, quality assurance, and motivating the team.
