Installation Project Engineer
Job Description
Integrated Mill Systems is seeking an Installation Project Engineer for our onsite team in Portage, IN. This role focuses on executing project assignments within the Installation Group, with emphasis on power system, network, and control/device design for installing IMS equipment such as Drives, RIO, Operator Stations and Desks, and PLC/Networking Cabinets. The position offers a salary range of USD 65,000 to 95,000 per year and requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. This role may support multiple projects across IMS installations.

Responsibilities
- Installation design of Power and Drive system applications, both AC and DC power
- Block Diagram creation for all Power, Networking, and Device portions of a project
- General Arrangement creation or modification of equipment layouts with conduit/tray routing
- Cable and Conduit Schedule creation
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, civil drawings, mechanical drawings, and hydraulic drawings
- On-site field investigations for Installation Engineering across projects
- On-site commissioning of Installation Engineering for projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Engineering or equivalent industrial experience
- Travel up to 25 percent of the time
- Experience with AC and DC drive systems
- Experience applying NEC codes for power and drive system design
- Metals processing knowledge is preferred
- Knowledge of ETAP for power studies and harmonic analysis
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training for technical competency
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team player with a commitment to timely completion of work
- Understanding of IMS and maintaining a company-wide perspective with customers and projects
- Flexibility to support other projects or teams as needed
- Desire to continue learning and adapting to new skills
- Commitment to ongoing skill development and advancement within IMS
