Job Description
An Instrumentation & Control Engineer (PE) is needed at HireOTS for the Madison, Wisconsin office to support municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities. This onsite role centers on PLC and SCADA networks, as well as the development of P&IDs and control schematics, with project leadership and design management responsibilities for medium to large systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide instrumentation and control engineering services and consulting for municipal water and wastewater treatment plants and facilities.
- Lead project and design management efforts for PLC and SCADA networks across medium to large systems.
- Prepare reports, develop plans, and create P&IDs and specifications for municipal clients.
- Develop, review, and interpret P&IDs and control schematics to ensure accurate implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT).
- 4–8 years of experience designing and developing P&IDs and control schematics.
- Strong experience designing instrumentation and control systems for water and wastewater treatment plants and pump stations.
- Experience developing one-line diagrams and control schematics.
- Extensive experience with medium- and large-scale municipal water and wastewater projects.
- Master’s degree in Electrical or I&C Engineering is a plus.

Compensation
Salary: USD 120,000 - 159,999 per year.
