Job Description

VOCAL Technologies Inc. is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support a team developing telecommunications solutions. This in-person role is based in Buffalo, NY, where you will help design, implement, and maintain software, along with building practical software tools that support code development and maintenance.

In this position, you will work directly with customers to align solutions with their needs, while contributing to code and tests for modules that can be sizable and complex. The work also involves hands-on technical activities spanning embedded environments, network traffic analysis, and real-time systems.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers to deliver solutions that meet and exceed their needs
  • Design and implement software solutions to telecommunications problems
  • Maintain and improve existing software solutions
  • Write and test software modules of significant size and complexity
  • Create software tools to assist with code building and maintenance

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience with C/C++ programming
  • Experience with Embedded Systems
  • Experience capturing and debugging network traffic
  • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems
  • Experience with Digital Signal Processing algorithms
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
  • Must be able to obtain Security Clearance
  • Familiarity with C/C++ programming languages
