Job Description
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Automation Software Engineer (Network Automation) in Charlotte, NC with a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex technology initiatives, including companywide programs with broad impact
- Participate in shaping standards and companywide best practices for large-scale engineering and technology solutions
- Design, code, test, debug, and document solutions for projects and programs
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology implementations against tactical and strategic objectives, enterprise environment constraints, and technical challenges
- Make and influence decisions for standardization and best practices by applying industry guidance and new technologies
- Collaborate with senior technical leaders, subject matter experts, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues
- Lead projects and teams, and/or serve as a peer mentor
Requirements
- 5+ years of Software Development / Network Automation experience (or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, or military experience)
- 3+ years of technical documentation experience
- 3+ years of programming and scripting skills, including one or more of: Python, Go, Django, Perl, Ansible, Terraform

Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in a lead or senior engineer capacity
- Relevant certifications preferred, including CCIE Automation and JNCIE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes), Helm, Harness, and other package managers or AI driven CICD frameworks
- Experience with Temporal, Celery, and other workflow or runtime execution environments
- Demonstrable software development in Python, Go, and .net
- API experience using Restconf, Netconf, Swagger, and API-based integration
- Observability experience including gRPC, flow data, logging, Grafana, ELK, and Prometheus
- Information security and risk management experience, including policy/standards, security assessments, security best practices, and mitigation solution design and implementation
- Strong leadership skills

Pay Range: USD 119,000 - 224,000 per year
Minimum Experience: 5 years
