Job Description

Capgemini is seeking a Senior/Lead Embedded Software Engineer to drive iRDK bring-up and platform enablement across MediaTek C-X1 SoC platforms. In this highly visible technical leadership role, you will own end-to-end bring-up from EVK validation through integration on custom iRDK hardware platforms, serving as the primary interface with MediaTek and cross-functional engineering teams.

The position is based onsite in Santa Clara, CA (location noted as Palo Alto, California in the posting). You will lead technical execution, BSP and kernel bring-up, debugging, and activities that support productization readiness.

Role Scope

  • Lead the technical execution of iRDK bring-up activities on MediaTek C-X1 platforms.
  • Own the platform development lifecycle from EVK validation through custom board integration and production readiness.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact with MediaTek for SoC enablement, escalations, and issue resolution.
  • Drive BSP development, board bring-up, kernel integration, and system-level debugging.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, QA, and product teams to support seamless platform integration.
  • Debug and resolve complex boot, driver, kernel, and hardware/software interaction issues.
  • Enable and optimize Linux-based embedded platforms, including bootloader and kernel customization.
  • Define bring-up plans, track technical milestones, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
  • Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership on embedded software best practices.
  • Support productization efforts, focusing on scalability, performance, stability, and maintainability of the platform.
  • Work closely with SoC vendors and external partners to accelerate issue resolution and technology adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of embedded software experience; 5+ years in a staff or lead role.
  • Direct hands-on experience with MediaTek SoC platforms including C-X1, MT8xxx series, or equivalent.
  • Proven track record leading ECU/SoC bringup programs end-to-end.
  • Strong BSP and kernel bring-up expertise (including Linux and U-Boot or equivalent bootloader).
  • Experience using C/C++ and Python/Rust, plus hardware debug tools such as Lauterbach, JTAG, and an oscilloscope.
  • Excellent cross-team communication and experience working directly with SoC vendors.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: USD 73,150 - 174,000 per year.
