Job Description

This role leads technical solutions for Siemens Energy’s 9000HL fleet gas turbines, with responsibility for operating and protection strategy, prototype validation, and translating fleet data into improvements. You will partner with global engineering teams to deliver requirements, design specifications, and customer-aligned outcomes while advancing new technologies across the 9HL portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Own the operating and protection strategy for Siemens Energy’s 9000HL fleet gas turbines to support safe, reliable, best-in-class performance.
  • Collaborate with domain experts across turbines, combustion, compressor, and auxiliary systems to develop next-generation operating solutions that increase flexibility, efficiency, and availability.
  • Lead prototype validation from concept through execution, ensuring critical projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with measurable results.
  • Convert fleet data into actionable improvements by identifying trends, resolving complex challenges, and deploying enhancements across the global 9HL fleet.
  • Work with engineering teams worldwide to ensure solutions meet product requirements, design specifications, and customer expectations.
  • Support product launches and the commercialization of new technologies by advancing the success of the 9000HL portfolio.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree (or equivalent experience in gas turbine development).
  • 5 to 10+ years of expertise in gas turbine operation; additional experience may be considered for higher-level roles.
  • Demonstrated protection philosophy that safeguards people, assets, information, and operations through risk management, prevention, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of gas turbine auxiliary systems, including fuel gas, fuel oil, lube oil, hydraulics, cooling, and related systems, with a comprehensive understanding of interfaces, end-to-end operation, troubleshooting, and protection philosophies.
  • Proven ability to lead globally and think strategically, with a bias for action; experience influencing stakeholders at all levels, aligning cross-functional teams, challenging priorities, and delivering impactful results on time and within budget.
  • Agile and/or LEAN mindset focused on continuous improvement, speed, and efficiency.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization required. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Preferred

  • Commissioning experience.
