Job Description

Join a Lead Software Engineer contract opportunity with Software Resources, Inc. in Orlando, FL (hybrid). The schedule is 4 days per week on-site with Fridays remote, supporting backend tools and automation that enable AI and data-driven applications at a major corporation.

This role is built for engineers who enjoy turning operational needs into reliable systems. You will design and maintain backend tooling, build automation pipelines, and help strengthen monitoring, logging, and database management to support performance and uptime. You will also stay aligned with evolving backend, AI, and automation technologies to drive scalability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend tools, automation scripts, services, and automation pipelines that support AI and data-driven applications.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and database management to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with teams, document best practices, and maintain security and compliance standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across backend, database, and automation systems.
  • Stay current with backend, AI, and automation technologies to improve scalability and efficiency.
  • Actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong programming skills in Python, with additional experience in JavaScript, C, and C++.
  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML development, backend tooling, and automation pipelines.
  • Proficiency with SQL and database technologies (both relational and NoSQL) for data modeling and backend integration.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and scripting.
  • Understanding of backend architectures, distributed systems, and performance optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
