Job Description

JPMorgan Chase seeks a Lead Software Engineer with a focus on AI and multi-cloud deployment to architect and deliver an AI driven observability platform. The role centers on designing and deploying across AWS, Azure, and GCP to correlate metrics, logs, and traces, enabling self healing and a reduction in incident ticket volumes. The position is onsite in Plano, Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Build and deploy infrastructure solutions that enable seamless integration between control planes and user accounts.
  • Design data pipelines to ingest, aggregate, and correlate telemetry data including metrics, logs, and traces from multi cloud environments.
  • Architect and implement closed loop automation playbooks that allow infrastructure to auto remediate common, repeatable failure modes without human intervention.
  • Drive the team’s adoption of enterprise authorized AI assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes. This includes AI assisted code review and refactoring, accelerated test strategy, and incident root cause analysis support, while establishing consistent validation standards and promoting reusable patterns.
  • Leverage the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain and enterprise AI assisted development capabilities to maximize automation value.
  • Build and operationalize large language model and machine learning models for anomaly detection, predictive health monitoring, and forecasting system degradations.
  • Integrate the AI engine with ticket data, map observability insights to ticket trends, cluster repetitive issues, and quantify the platform’s impact on reducing mean time to resolution.
  • Develop user friendly self service portals or conversational AI interfaces that enable non expert teams to diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues safely.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering with 5+ years of applied experience.
  • AI, ML and Data Science: strong proficiency in Python and Java, plus experience integrating LLM and ML models. Familiarity with time series forecasting pipelines and NLP for log and ticket clustering is essential. Understanding of agentic AI concepts such as A2A, MCPs, Skills, and RAG is expected.
  • Automation and Orchestration: advanced experience with configuration management tools and automated workflow engines.
  • Integration: hands on experience building custom webhooks, APIs, and integrations with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management.
  • Big Data Pipelines: ability to manage large scale streaming data infrastructure using cloud native data warehouses like Snowflake.
  • Cloud and Infrastructure: expertise in multi cloud architectures across AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP, including on premise environments.
  • Observability Frameworks: experience with enterprise observability stacks such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Dynatrace.
  • Demonstrated leadership in promoting approved AI assisted software development tools, with the ability to set team expectations for correctness, performance and security of AI outputs.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security requirements; experience coaching engineers on safe compliant adoption within delivery practices.
