Lead Software Engineer - Python/PySpark/Databricks/AI at JPMorganChase in Atlanta, GA (onsite) within Consumer and Community Banking, delivering trusted, scalable technology across multiple business functions.
Responsibilities
- Designs and delivers innovative software solutions from concept through debugging, applying nontraditional approaches to solve complex problems
- Creates secure, high quality production code and participates in peer reviews and debugging of others' work
- Identifies opportunities to automate recurring remediation tasks to improve the stability of applications and systems
- Leads evaluation discussions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architecture, credentials, and fit for integration into existing systems
- Leads communities of practice across software engineering to promote adoption of new and cutting edge technologies
- Champions enterprise AI assisted engineering practices to raise code quality, speed delivery, and operational outcomes, establishing consistent validation standards and encouraging reuse of effective patterns
- Leverages SDLC tools and enterprise AI capabilities to maximize automation value across development and delivery
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering with 5+ years of hands-on experience
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Strong knowledge of system design, domain driven design, and microservices
- Experience guiding monolith to microservices migrations for a 1000+ TPS, 24/7 platform
- Knowledge of architectural patterns for scalability, high availability, performance, and disaster recovery
- Hands-on experience with core Java, Python, Spring and REST services
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, service mesh, SQL and NoSQL databases, CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket and Git; proficient with Jira and Agile practices such as TDD/BDD
- Proven proficiency across software applications and technical domains including cloud, AI, ML, or mobile
- Experience leading the use of approved AI assisted development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting, with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs
- Strong understanding of responsible AI in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant AI adoption

Our Consumer and Community Banking division serves Chase customers with personal banking, cards, mortgages, auto financing, investment advice, small business loans and payment processing.
