Maintenance Engineer

Rebel Hotel Company is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to support day-to-day hotel operations through equipment maintenance, timely repairs, and preventative upkeep. This onsite role in Del Mar, CA also includes responding to guest requests and completing assigned work orders while following safe, efficient procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of hotel equipment.
• Change out light bulbs and complete preventative maintenance for guest rooms, including vinyl repair, touch up paint, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, tile repairs, and related tasks.
• Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guestrooms, meeting rooms, swimming pool, and hot tub.
• Handle plumbing repair, laundry equipment repair, and preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply.
• Monitor energy conservation and repair vacuum cleaners and other small equipment upon request.
• Immediately follow up on alarms by determining the exact location and cause, determining emergency status, and reporting findings to the Front Desk.
• Complete other tasks and jobs assigned by the supervisor or manager.
• Maintain access to back-of-house areas and sensitive information as part of the role.
• Interact with guests and/or colleagues, including occasional unsupervised contact.
• Access and control sensitive areas in the hotel premises, including the Hotel Safe, Master Keys and/or guestrooms, Storage/Liquor Room, and secured file cabinets.
• Drive safely on behalf of the company for business reasons.
• Maintain a high level of trust and responsibility, representing the company with good character, reputation, and sound judgment.
