Mechanical Applications Engineer (Inside Technical Support)

The Mechanical Applications Engineer (Inside Technical Support) provides 100 percent onsite technical guidance to clients, bridging engineering design with practical deployment and coordinating with internal sales and engineering teams to address complex challenges. This role offers a base salary in the 65,000 to 80,000 USD range and a comprehensive benefits package, with all work performed onsite in the greater Milwaukee area.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical authority for custom industrial systems, translating design concepts into client-ready solutions.
• Manage a steady stream of technical consultations via phone and email to thoroughly understand client application requirements.
• Apply fundamental mechanical principles to analyze data, troubleshoot process challenges, and propose optimized equipment configurations.
• Leverage advanced, automated software platforms to generate and refine precise quotes quickly.
• Collaborate with internal sales and engineering teams to resolve manufacturing bottlenecks and explore alternative system designs.
• Maintain detailed project files and configuration records to ensure smooth handoffs to the production floor.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on industrial experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical design, industrial applications, or technical support within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Excellent communication skills with a consultative problem solving approach and the ability to manage a steady flow of technical client calls.
• A reliable, long-term work history with previous employers.
• Exposure to heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, or industrial process equipment is valued but not required.
• Must reside within a dependable daily driving radius of the Greater Milwaukee / Washington County area.
