Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Description
Sedona Staffing is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for an on-site role in Moscow, IA, focused on RV design and systems engineering. The position encompasses design, development, testing, and ongoing maintenance of recreational vehicle subsystems, including chassis, structure, powertrain, electrical, plumbing, and interior integrations. This role emphasizes translating market and owner insights into innovative, compliant designs through close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate RV components and systems, covering body structures, chassis, powertrain, electrical, plumbing, and interior integrations.
- Apply engineering expertise to powertrain development, integration, and performance optimization.
- Drive the creation of advanced technologies and new product concepts that push the RV industry forward.
- Convert owner and market feedback into actionable design improvements and new features.
- Work with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, sales, procurement, and quality to implement and refine engineering solutions.
- Produce and maintain precise technical documentation, CAD drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure designs comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Lead or contribute to multiple simultaneous innovation and product development projects.
- Explore and integrate emerging technologies including sustainable and alternative powertrains.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during development, testing, and production.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or Product Design Engineering (or a related field).
- Several years of experience in product design or engineering, ideally in the RV, automotive, marine, or aerospace industries.
- Working knowledge and hands-on experience with powertrain systems and their integration into vehicle platforms.
- Proven ability to drive innovation and contribute to the development of new products and technologies.
- Proficiency with CAD and engineering tools, as well as knowledge of systems integration.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Compensation
Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
