Job Description
Mid to senior level Clean Energy Engineer role with EMC Insights, supporting C&I energy efficiency program implementation, staff oversight, and M and V services from a remote location with travel to New Jersey.
Responsibilities
- Contribute as a core member of the consulting team to deploy commercial and industrial energy efficiency programs.
- Lead and supervise engineering staff on utility-facing program implementation contracts to evaluate program impact.
- Perform on-site assessments at commercial and industrial facilities.
- Collaborate with contractors, end-use customers, and other stakeholders to review savings estimates for large, complex projects.
- Support the expansion of services to provide measurement and verification (M and V) support to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Lead and mentor the program implementation engineering staff.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with solid client interface capabilities.
- Coordinate with end-use customers and contractors to facilitate participation in utility-sponsored C&I energy efficiency incentive programs.
- Conduct inspections to verify installation and operation of baseline and replacement energy-efficient equipment.
- Provide technical and non-technical support to utility customers and trade allies.
- Produce high-quality engineering deliverables including spreadsheets, calculators, and memos.
- Establish and maintain professional customer rapport, identifying needs and proposing solutions.
- Address contractor and customer concerns promptly to resolve issues and foster long-term relationships.
- Understand organizational decision-making to collaborate with contractors and customers on eligibility, scheduling, and potential energy savings.
- Perform and review energy savings calculation estimates.
- Manage multiple projects efficiently, provide timely updates, and keep all parties informed.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, customers, and utility clients to meet program requirements, in person or virtually.
- Maintain quality control of all deliverables, ensuring clarity and adherence to schedules.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

- $100,000 - $110,000 per year

Ideal Location
- Ideally located in New Jersey, but open to nearby states such as Pennsylvania, New York, or Delaware.
- Remote (work-from-home) position with occasional travel to customer sites in New Jersey.
