Millwork Engineer Entry Level

Suburban Laminating LLC is hiring an entry level Millwork Engineer to support custom furniture projects in Melrose Park, IL (onsite). This part-time or full-time role focuses on practical engineering support across design documentation, manufacturing planning, and day-to-day coordination to help projects move smoothly through production.

What you’ll do

• Create and edit shop drawings, cut lists, and setup diagrams used for manufacturing
• Program and operate a CNC router as part of the production workflow
• Develop bill of materials (BOMs) and help order materials when needed
• Collaborate with designers and the production team to resolve discrepancies and complete projects
• Create and manage the production schedule
• Build knowledge of all shop equipment, processes, and capabilities

What you bring

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other design programs
• Creative drive with imagination and an eye for design
• Communication and presentation skills
• AS or BS degree in Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a similar field
• A drawing of anything you have designed
• A brief description explaining what your item is about

Tools you’ll use

AutoCAD, SketchUp, and a CNC router.
