Job Description

Context: P&C Engineer IV role overseeing electrical systems engineering, design, and construction oversight at the Augusta, Maine site.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced engineering knowledge to evaluate, select, modify, and implement standard techniques and criteria for electrical systems of varying size and complexity, including core design and project execution tasks.
  • Lead preliminary design work, budgetary estimation, and scheduling activities.
  • Lead detailed design efforts, estimating, and scheduling as part of project delivery.
  • Prepare equipment specifications, evaluate proposals, and process requisitions.
  • Perform engineering calculations to ensure safety and performance of equipment and systems.
  • Select and apply appropriate engineering methods, equipment, and systems; interface with other disciplines for constructability and conformance to project requirements.
  • Coordinate design engineering and equipment delivery to meet construction schedules; collect on-site measurements and data to support design or evaluate equipment performance.
  • Review completed work for design adequacy, quality, and documentation; monitor construction to ensure conformance with plans, specifications, codes, and practices; manage construction schedules for timely completion.
  • Direct changes to the work as requested by the Project Engineer; implement testing programs for materials, equipment, or plant systems as directed.
  • Assist in evaluating and approving contractor invoices; assist in receiving and inspecting equipment and materials.
  • Serve as Project Engineer on assigned projects when required, including moderate to large size and complexity.
  • Perform complex studies and economic analyses of engineering alternatives; prepare reports and feasibility studies for management; provide budget and schedule information to the Project Manager and leadership.
  • Provide expertise in the company’s design, construction, QA/QC, and safety standards, and in the document control system; apply national and local standards (eg, ANSI/IEEE, NEC, ASTM, AIC).
  • Promote complete and accurate record keeping and uphold the quality of all work performed; stay informed of current developments in the field.
  • Lead professional development, training, and evaluation of department personnel; travel may be required to support work.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Shall hold Engineer IV (Lead Engineer) or equivalent with a minimum of eight years of relevant experience.
  • Shall possess a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience in the designated engineering field.
  • Professional Engineer license strongly preferred.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is USD 117,998.40 to USD 140,000.00 per year, with final pay determined by experience, education, skills, location, and other compensable factors. Local law compliance applies.
