Principal Software Engineer

NFI Industries is hiring a Principal Software Engineer (onsite) in Trenton, NJ to build and evolve its Digital Twin capabilities and guide key engineering decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance for the Digital Twin and related technologies
• Drive interoperability across the Digital Twin and connected data
• Report on team and project performance KPIs
• Create and maintain flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to capture requirements and solutions
• Develop and update quarterly roadmaps reviewed with internal and customer leadership
• Organize and participate in project meetings covering scope, requirements, design, planning, and status
• Apply best practices across analysis, design, coding, testing, upgrades, and production control to develop and support application software on schedule
• Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback
• Ensure software is kept current with latest features
• Write well-designed, testable code
• Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Related Engineering
• 7+ years experience in a corporate engineering or software development environment
• Well-rounded experience planning and implementing engineering, analytics, and relationship development
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously
• Capability to ramp up quickly in a busy, fast-moving atmosphere
• Strong experience with Python and SQL; proficiency with software engineering tools
• Experience with test-driven development
• Ability to conduct software reviews and provide status updates with leadership
• Ability to run project meetings focused on requirements and design

Preferred Requirements

• 10+ years experience in a corporate engineering or Supply Chain consulting environment
• Sound knowledge of Supply Chain Engineering, Software Engineering, Data and Platforms Engineering
• Experience with Supply Chain modeling platforms such as Supply Chain Guru, Llama.ai, NextMV, Gains, Sophus, Starboard, Optilogic, or TMOD
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
• Experience with Go / Golang
• Experience with ML algorithms, optimization algorithms, and building AI-native apps / MCP
