Product Design Engineer
Job Description
Join Juggernaut Defense's Product team at the Scottsdale, AZ headquarters to develop rugged, high-performance products for extreme environments.
Responsibilities
- Design rugged, high-performance products for Special Forces and allied militaries worldwide.
- Engineer solutions that balance function, manufacturability, and durability in extreme environments.
- Iterate concepts through sketches, digital illustrations, 3D CAD and renderings, hand-built mock-ups, and 3D prints, in collaboration with the design team.
- Translate concepts into 3D parametric CAD models, planning part segmentation with manufacturing and assembly in mind.
- Execute engineering tasks independently and under guidance from senior engineers.
- Collaborate on all new product development activities to generate concepts and solutions for fit, form, and function.
- Research and ensure the product and its mechanical components meet applicable safety and compliance standards.
- Plan, execute, and document engineering validation tests.
- Troubleshoot product and manufacturing defects to identify root causes.
- Create and maintain product documentation, including assembly instructions, drawings, databases, engineering change orders, and BOMs.
- Design mid-complexity components and systems independently, and higher-complexity components and systems with limited supervision.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product development and manufacturing experience covering the full development process from idea generation through concept development and testing.
- Proven ability to collaborate with Industrial Designers, Electrical Engineers, and Manufacturing Engineers across all development phases.
- Strong CAD background with Creo experience highly preferred.
- Extensive experience designing extremely complex plastic parts for high-volume injection molding.
- Significant experience designing CNC housings and components for electrical housings and assemblies.
- Solid understanding of fundamental mechanical and design principles.
- Track record of accountability and delivering results to meet or exceed objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
