Responsibilities

• Advise project stakeholders and management on engineering requirements for construction, modifications, and repairs across various designs.
• Utilize design software and drafting tools to accurately render and communicate designs, including related systems such as transportation and hydrology.
• If applicable, supervise and guide junior staff on design and construction tasks and assignments.
• Plan projects by analyzing drawings, blueprints, aerial imagery, survey reports, maps, and geologic or topographic data.
• Prepare and present reports on topics like environmental impact statements and right-of-way descriptions.
• Estimate material, equipment, and labor costs to support project budgets.
• Collaborate with architects and contractors to ensure steady project progress.
• Coordinate with surveyors or participate in surveying to establish reference points, grades, elevations, and other construction-influencing factors.
• Monitor progress to verify adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and sanitation requirements.

Requirements

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience preferred but not required
• Professional Engineering License required, with the ability to obtain NY and VT licenses within two years
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D 2020
• Knowledge of HydroCAD is a plus
• Experience with permit applications to local boards and state agencies is a plus
• Experience with field work and site observation services is a plus
• Ability to support project delivery within established budgets and deadlines
