Project Civil Engineer

The Project Civil Engineer role supports site planning, land development, and municipal-related services through the full design and construction workflow, including engineering analysis and field construction support.

Role Focus

Rennia Engineering Design, PLLC is seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineer with 4-8 years of design experience to join the design team. This onsite position in Dover Plains, NY contributes to civil engineering design and analysis, construction inspection and management, and the development of detailed construction plans, reports, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects, including schematics, system design, and technical reports.
• Manage project scheduling to support timely delivery while coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Prepare detailed drawings and schematics.
• Carry out construction management activities such as site inspections, quality assurance, and compliance monitoring during permitting and construction.
• Perform hydrological studies and hydraulic modeling.
• Support design of stormwater management systems.
• Support design of water systems.
• Support design of wastewater treatment systems.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Well organized and self-motivated, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
• Strong design, writing, and communication skills.
• General proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS.
• Familiarity with understanding municipal and agency regulations.
• Regional work experience in New York or Connecticut.
• Experience managing civil infrastructure and land development projects.
• Experience in construction management and construction inspection.
• Ability to produce technical engineering reports with clarity and precision.

Compensation
