Project Engineer

Highly Marelli USA, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to lead and control design and development activities across new and existing products and projects. Based in Farmington Hills, MI and working onsite, this role manages multiple major projects with minimum direct supervision while providing technical direction to less experienced personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Assume engineering responsibility for new designs and revisions to existing designs.
• Evaluate engineering design considerations including cost, manufacturing impact, customer impact, product safety, employee safety, environmental considerations, and regulatory issues for assigned projects.
• Direct the technical work of technicians, designers, and other engineers as assigned to project teams.
• Recommend and implement ideas related to new product and new business opportunities.
• Conduct value analysis and FMEA studies.
• Monitor new materials and technology in related engineering fields and provide updates to the engineering staff.
• Review designs for patentable features and prepare required disclosures.
• Maintain Project Management Systems to support successful engineering project execution.
• Track project programs to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field (Required).
• 4 to 7 years of experience in a related field (or alternatively a master’s degree with generally 3 to 6 years of related experience).
• Certification may be required in some areas.
• Experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.
• Strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
• Ability to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information encountered.

Compensation

USD 90,000 - 140,000 per year.
