Resident Operational Engineer
Job Description
The Resident Operational Engineer role at Eletric80 in Albany, GA focuses on coordinating daily to monthly activities to maintain and support E80 systems at dedicated customer plants. The position blends hands-on engineering tasks with supervisory duties to maximize customer satisfaction, with an approximate 50 percent field involvement and 50 percent leadership responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for customer service aspects including asset and system performance, ticket resolution, spare parts inventory management, and overall service delivery; ensure timely, clear communication with customers and E80 back-office support.
- Organize and lead periodic technology update sessions to inform and train the customer’s personnel and managers on E80’s latest technologies and products.
- Participate in periodic operational and management meetings with the customer’s staff.
- Prepare and share quotes for parts and interventions, guiding the customer to issue purchase orders to the E80 team as needed.
- Allocate technical resources, verify equipment and tools as required, and manage materials for field services and projects based on requirements and availability.
- Develop and maintain resource schedules for maintenance, field service, and retrofit activities, coordinating with CSAM, supervisors, resident engineers, spare parts representatives, service coordinators, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
- Order spare parts when possible and coordinate with suppliers to prioritize deliveries.
- Enter and manage tickets in Salesforce to track issues and resolutions.
- Coordinate on-site resource interventions aligned with scheduled maintenance and ticket resolutions for technical tasks.
- Monitor resource performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Continuously review and improve resource allocation processes to boost efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure maintenance, field service, and retrofit activities comply with applicable regulations, standards, and company policies.
- Observe customer behavior and alternative service purchases to identify areas for organizational improvement within E80.
- Escalate important customer aspects to the appropriate levels within the organization.
- Maintain safety precautions for the operation of E80 systems and escalate discrepancies to stakeholders and management.
- Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting on E80 machines using available diagnostic tools when required.
- Replace, program, and configure E80 electromechanical components as needed.
- Conduct periodic engineering and software maintenance tasks, such as LGV calibration and navigation parameter adjustments, as required.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience in maintenance management within material handling or industrial machine design and manufacturing may be considered.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in material handling, packaging equipment, robotics, and palletizing industries, with a focus on customer service, project management, and asset management; familiarity with industrial equipment design, manufacturing, and maintenance processes is highly valued.
- Strong technical background with hands-on understanding of all technical aspects of an E80 automation system (PLC, PC, LGV, EM).
- CMRT certifications are highly preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP ERP and CRM systems, particularly Salesforce.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Power Platform.
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
