Job Description
Hybrid remote Sales Engineer role in Guam focused on field sales, contractor relationships, and technical procurement support, with a salary range of USD 40,000 to 300,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Regularly visit subcontractor and general contractor offices to strengthen in-person engagement.
- Maintain and grow relationships through consistent on-site presence and follow-up.
- Develop new contacts and perform timely follow-ups to advance opportunities.
- Attend networking events and maintain visibility within the Guam market.
- Identify and bring in bid opportunities, RFQs, and project intelligence to inform procurement and pricing.
- Collect drawings, specifications, and project information and route them to GMI for pricing and execution.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients at all organizational levels.
- Support the expansion of GMI's presence and reputation across Guam.
Requirements
- Residence in Guam, USA, with legal authorization to work there.
- Expertise in UFGS and CSI specification structure and how those requirements flow into bidding, procurement, and submittals.
- Familiarity with NAVFAC project requirements and Guam's military construction environment, including Andersen Air Force Base and Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz.
- Understanding of the full project cycle from drawings and specs through RFQs, procurement, submittals, and delivery.
- Proven experience on MACC or MATOC type projects tied to Andersen AFB and Camp Blaz in Guam.
- Experience supporting MILCON projects.
- Comprehensive grasp of the terminology, workflow, and service model described on GMI's website, including bid support, drawing/specification review, U.S.-spec material and equipment sourcing, submittal support, procurement coordination, and project-specific supply across major construction divisions.
- Professional, persistent, technically aware, and comfortable engaging with construction industry professionals.
- Ability to enter an office, build rapport, communicate clearly, follow up consistently, and become a trusted point of contact over time.
- Comfort with using ChatGPT and other modern digital tools as part of daily workflow.
- Prior experience collaborating with general contractors, subcontractors, or other construction industry roles.
- Solid understanding of construction flows, bid environments, and the transition from drawings and specs to RFQs and procurement.
- Familiarity with major construction divisions, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, and architectural scopes.
- Strong in-person presence and communication skills.
- Fully fluent professional English.
- Demonstrated ownership, professionalism, and follow-through.
- Ability to work independently and stay organized.
