Job Description

SPN Solutions Inc. is seeking a Senior BI & Analytics Engineer to deliver trusted dashboards and AI-assisted views for a federal agency’s attorneys, field offices, and program staff.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate time-boxed working sessions with each office plus agency data and CIO staff
  • Define each analytics product: supported decision, data grain, system of record, inclusion rules, authorized audiences, and an example that demonstrates correctness
  • Develop dbt models with declared grain and quality checks for uniqueness, non-null keys, referential integrity, and accepted values
  • Create scheduled extracts that publish only after the full expected volume arrives
  • Reconcile every released figure to a control count the office already trusts
  • Build Apache Superset datasets directly on top of dbt models (no ad hoc SQL), then implement dashboards and AI-assisted views on top
  • Run acceptance testing with office users: reconcile values, confirm citations open, validate restricted roles see only permitted data, and ensure keyboard usability
  • Pair each chart with a supporting data table; avoid conveying meaning via color alone; verify contrast; test end-to-end tasks using a screen reader
  • Write an onboarding playbook, user documentation, and administrator documentation; deliver enablement sessions
  • Document each pipeline: sources, schedules, dependencies, failure behavior, and ownership

Requirements

  • United States citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust Tier 2 determination
  • 5+ years across data engineering and business intelligence
  • Advanced SQL
  • Python with pandas
  • Production experience with Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Apache Superset
