Job Description

Based in Monett, Missouri with remote options, this Senior Developer Experience Engineer role at Jack Henry centers on treating developer documentation as a product and benchmarking our developer experience against industry standards. You will ship interactive documentation and content infrastructure while collaborating with engineers, SDK teams, and product partners.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and continuously improve the Jack Henry Developer Relations Portal in line with engineering best practices and standards.
  • Steer the design, planning, and delivery of new features, breaking work into clear, manageable tasks for the team.
  • Embed reliability, scalability, performance, and quality considerations into all development efforts.
  • Represent the team in technical discussions and decision-making sessions, such as discovery workshops.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across release pipelines and production environments.
  • Own the developer documentation platform end-to-end, including architecture, UX, and roadmaps, benchmarking against industry standards.
  • Design and deliver interactive, accessible documentation experiences such as code samples, API explorers, tutorials, and videos.
  • Develop and maintain templates, tools, and contribution guides to enable scalable documentation creation across teams.
  • Produce high-impact developer content, including guides, tutorials, and video walkthroughs.
  • Manage and continuously improve documentation infrastructure, including site generation, CI/CD, previews, search, and analytics.
  • Leverage modern AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor to accelerate development and documentation workflows.
  • Establish and maintain documentation processes, including style guidelines, contribution workflows, review standards, and audit practices.
  • May perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in documentation, developer experience, or developer education roles for a developer audience.
  • Proven ability to organize and structure complex technical content, including information architecture and content modeling.
  • Experience improving developer documentation for usability, clarity, and navigation.
  • Hands-on use of AI coding tools in day-to-day workflows, including Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot.
  • Experience creating both written documentation and video or screencast content for technical audiences.

Technologies

  • Claude Code
  • Cursor
  • GitHub Copilot
  • Web Components, Polymer, Lit
  • webpack, rollup
  • OpenAPI specifications
  • OAuth2/OpenID Connect
  • CI/CD

Nice to have

  • Docs-as-code experience: comfort opening PRs against the docs platform itself β€” modifying site generators, CI workflows, content tooling, and search infrastructure β€” not just authoring Markdown.
  • Strategic and audit thinking: experience benchmarking documentation, identifying systemic gaps, and producing actionable roadmaps rather than only executing the next ticket.
