Job Description
Senior Developer Experience Engineer at Jack Henry, a remote role responsible for treating developer documentation as a product and owning the documentation platform end-to-end, collaborating with the Developer Relations team to improve developer experiences, within 70 miles of specified office locations.
Responsibilities
- Architect and evolve the Jack Henry Developer Relations Portal, following engineering best practices and standards.
- Drive the design, planning, and rollout of new features, decomposing work into clear, manageable tasks for the team.
- Embed reliability, scalability, performance, and quality into all development efforts.
- Act as the team's technical representative in discussions and decision-making, including discovery sessions.
- Diagnose and fix issues across release pipelines and production environments.
- Own the developer documentation platform end-to-end, including architecture, UX, and roadmap, benchmarked against industry standards.
- Create and deliver engaging, accessible documentation experiences such as code samples, API explorers, tutorials, and videos.
- Develop and maintain templates, tooling, and contribution guides to scale documentation across teams.
- Produce impactful developer content, including guides, tutorials, and video walkthroughs.
- Oversee and continually improve documentation infrastructure, including site generation, CI/CD, previews, search, and analytics.
- Leverage modern AI-assisted coding tools (eg, Claude Code, Cursor) to accelerate development and documentation workflows.
- Establish and sustain documentation processes, including style guidelines, contribution workflows, review standards, and audit practices.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of experience in documentation, developer experience, or developer education for a developer audience.
- Proven ability to structure complex technical content via information architecture and content modeling.
- Experience improving developer documentation for usability, clarity, and navigability.
- Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot in daily workflows.
- Experience producing both written documentation and video or screencast content for technical audiences.
