Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Job Description
EdgeTech is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead the development of low-noise, mixed-signal circuits for high-performance sonar systems. The role focuses on owning analog design, transducer integration, and board and system bring-up, coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust sonar solutions from concept through production. This hybrid position is based in West Wareham, MA, with a salary range of $140,000 to $150,000 and requires a substantial background in analog design.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering peers on the architectural design of sonar product platforms and systems.
- Serve as the lead for critical analog design elements, including low-noise front ends, signal acquisition, signal integrity, and system grounding.
- Contribute to transmitter and receive transducer designs, developing transmit amplifiers and associated power systems.
- Coordinate with board layout engineers and mechanical engineers to create PCBs and integrated electronic packages.
- Work with transducer teams to integrate electromechanical designs with electronic components.
- Direct board and system bring-up activities to ensure proper functionality.
- Participate in at-sea testing of sonar systems to validate performance in operational environments.
- Develop system- and board-level tests to verify conformance to electrical and engineering specifications.
- Apply test procedures to transfer products to manufacturing.
- Support manufacturing in turnkey production and in-house testing of assembled PCBs and larger electronic subassemblies.
- Interface with the engineering organization on engineering change orders, new product transfers, and bills of materials management.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required; MSEE preferred.
- 10+ years of hands-on analog design experience with low-noise techniques in circuit design and board layout.
- Experience integrating, testing, and verifying complex systems; sonar or radar experience is a significant plus.
- Proficiency with analog simulation, schematic capture, and test/measurement equipment.
- Strong team orientation, willingness to share knowledge, and ability to support multiple groups within the organization.
- Some travel is required.
