Senior Electrical Engineer
Job Description
LifeSafer offers a collaborative, growth-focused environment dedicated to wearable consumer electronics. This onsite Senior Electrical Engineer role is based in Denver, CO, working with cross-functional hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable wearable devices. The position offers a salary range of $130,000 to $170,000 per year, along with a benefits package that includes 401(k), dental insurance, employee assistance program, flexible schedule, retirement plan, and tuition reimbursement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to both new designs and sustaining efforts to enhance performance and reliability of wearable electronics.
- Identify suitable replacements for obsolete and end-of-life components.
- Cross-functionally lead and participate in failure analysis to uncover root causes of production and field issues.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to address product issues, implement design changes, and resolve technical challenges.
- Develop and execute electrical verification test plans to validate designs, uncover potential issues, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Analyze test results, troubleshoot electrical issues, and recommend design improvements and optimizations.
- Create documentation including test procedures, reports, and specifications to support development and manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency with Altium Enterprise for schematic capture and PCB layout to support sustaining efforts.
- Experience with electrical design tools such as CAD software (Altium Enterprise) and circuit simulation tools (SPICE).
- Experience applying embedded microcontrollers, including MSP430, ARM7, and STM32; familiarity with IAR and KEIL development environments is a plus.
- Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, circuit design, and PCB layout.
- Proficiency in C and assembly language programming.
- Experience with a range of development and test tools such as oscilloscopes, meters, SPI bus analyzers, Pscpice, packet sniffers, emulators, JTAG debugging interfaces, logic analyzers, and function generators.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations relevant to wearable consumer electronics.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and present technical information clearly.
- Experience with Arena PLM, Salesforce, or JD Edwards is a plus.
